The Minoan Script We Can Sound Out But Can't Read

The words don't match any known language. We have 1,400 Minoan tablets, and we know the sound values — because the later script, Linear B, was decoded in 1952 and uses most of the same symbols. When scholars apply those values to the older script, Linear A, the words produced belong to no language ever recorded.
